Environmental Commissioner of Ontario wants to hear your stories of energy conservation success and failure
Environmental Commissioner Gord Miller has launched a new, interactive website where Ontarians can submit their stories of barriers and incentives to conserving energy. The site is designed to foster dialogue and discussion around the significant issue of energy efficiency and conservation.
The Green Energy and Green Economy Act, passed in spring 2009, mandates the ECO to produce an annual report for the Legislature on progress of activities in Ontario to reduce the use or make more efficient use of electricity, natural gas, propane, oil and transportation fuels.
Mr. Miller will be available to discuss the following points:
• The Commissioner's new duties under Ontario's Green Energy Act
• How he will encourage and facilitate energy conservation
• The purpose of his new website and why he wants citizen input
