City Councillor Joe Mihevc harnesses solar power

Joe Mihevc, City Councillor for Ward 21 (St. Paul's West), has recently installed a solar domestic hot water heater on his house. Come visit his home on October 14th and you'll see why this Fall is a great time for solar.

Councillor Mihevc enrolled with the West Toronto Initiative for Solar Energy (WISE), a community-led renewable energy project that has organized the bulk purchase of solar hot water systems to reduce his environmental footprint. The system - installed by GreenSaver - will help Councillor Mihevc save up to 50% on his water heating bills and reduce his green house gas emissions by 0.5 tonnes each year. Homeowners who install a system this Fall will start harnessing energy from the sun right away and will also qualify for the Home Renovation Tax Credit. Homeowners should be encouraged to install this year and be ready for the hot Spring sun.
